Boasting curious and graphic gems from across centuries and around the world, this auction includes a broad range of images. From the earliest and most wonderful examples of Art Nouveau, the works of Alphonse Mucha are well-represented by decorative panels, portfolios, and posters, including previously unseen rarities such as Mme. Sarah Bernhardt – World’s Tour 1914-15-16, circa 1914, and another promoting Bernhardt’s final tour. Other featured international Art Nouveau artists include Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, while early American highlights are Edward Penfield’s The Northampton Cycle Co., circa 1900, and Will Bradley’s Victor Bicycles, 1896, among a fantastic selection of Bradley covers, posters and ephemera.

Art Deco posters include Zig’s Josephine Baker / Casino de Paris, as well as recognizable, desirable and sought-after posters by Luciano Achille Mauzan, Charles Gesmar, Ludwig Hohlwein, Charles Loupot, Francis Bernard, Paul Colin, and Roger Broders.
Those interested in car posters will have a large selection of excellent and seldom-seen images to browse through in this auction, advertising races, grand prix, forgotten brands of automobiles and consumer favorites such as Fiat and Citroen. Following up on our highest-ever grossing travel posters sale in the fall, the auction features a plethora of enticing travel advertisements, including a highly anticipated selection of winter and ski imagery, including a rare Swissair poster by Carl Moos, a majestic image of a Fokker F-VII soaring through a geometrically patterned blue sky over the clouds and colorful Alpine peaks, circa 1933.
