Additionally, the auction will feature posters touting exotic destinations from the beaches of the French Riviera and the work of Roger Broders (Antibes, circa 1928, L’Été sur La Cote d’Azur, 1930, and La Route des Alpes, circa 1920), to the steppes of Siberia (P. Merinov, The Transsiberian Express, 1930), and to the glories of the Mughal emperors of India (Agra, Taj Mahal). Other highlights include Frank Newbould’s seldom-seen 1925 poster advertising travel on the LNER to Berlin, Maurice Lauro’s 1928 Art Deco gem for Trouville on the Normandy coast, and impressive classics such as Leslie Ragan’s 1939 New 20th Century Limited, John Held Jr.’s 1925 Nantucket, and David Klein’s psychedelic masterpiece New York Fly TWA.
