The album contains eighteen presidential signatures, fourteen of which—including Abraham Lincoln—are on a single page. John F. Kennedy and both Roosevelts are also on that page; Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama signed the following spread.

Lot 118: Album with more than 130 Civil War-era signatures, including Abraham Lincoln and his cabinet, and signed by 18 Presidents, 1864-2010. Estimate $60,000 to $90,000.

Ulysses S. Grant signed on his own page. Additionally, the album was signed by more that 130 Civil War-period political and military figures, including Schuyler Colfax, George Armstrong Custer, Charles Sumner and William Tecumseh Sherman, as well as cultural icons such as P.T. Barnum, who also jotted:

The album was discovered in a Boston bookshop in 1954 and maintained by Manuscript Society president Herbert Klingelhofer.
