Pictorialism & Early 20th-Century Photography in America
Featuring Alfred Stieglitz’s iconic Camera Work Number 36, Edward Steichen’s Camera Work Steichen Supplement, a run of pieces by Edward Curtis, and a section of material shot in New York (lots 88 to 105). Works that utilize photography as a tool for social change and documentation include several groundbreaking works for the FSA (lots 52 to 70), and two vintage variant prints of Dorothea Lange’s Migrant Mother.

Portraiture

There will not be bidding in the room, though we accept order bids, and interested buyers will be able to participate live via the Swann Galleries App. The app is available in the App Store and on Google Play, which can also be accessed on a desktop at live.swanngalleries.com.
