Mark Seliger

Mark Seliger was born in Amarillo, Texas.  He attended Houston’s High School for Performing & Visual Arts and East Texas State University.He was Rolling Stone’s Chief Photographer from 1992-2002, where he shot over 175 covers. From 2002-2012, he was on contract with Condé Nast where he shot regularly for Vanity Fair and GQ.

Seliger now shoots frequently for Vanity Fair, Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and many other magazines. In addition, he shoots advertising work for Adidas, Anheuser-Busch, Levi’s, McDonald’s, Netflix, Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban and many more. Seliger is the recipient of such esteemed awards as the Alfred Eisenstaedt Award, Lucie Award, Clio Grand Prix, Cannes Lions Grand Prix, The One Show, ASME, SPG, and the Texas Medal of Arts Award. Seliger’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.  His photographs are part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Dr. Rosamund Garrett

Dr. Rosamund Garrett is the Associate Curator of European & Decorative Art at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. Born in the United Kingdom, Rosamund gained her undergraduate MA at the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art in Fine Art and History of Art in 2011, before joining The Courtauld Institute of Art, London, for her MA (2011-12), and PhD (2012-2016). There she specialized in the art of Northern Europe in the Late Medieval and Renaissance period. Dr Garrett has worked in various museum positions in the UK including The National Trust and The Courtauld Gallery in London, where she was most recently the Bridget Riley Art Foundation Curatorial Assistant. There, she curated exhibitions including  Bruegel Not Bruegel(2016) and Bloomsbury Art & Design​(2017) among others. She contributed to the catalogue The Courtauld Collection. A Vision for Impressionism for the exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris (2019) and co-authored the book Late Medieval and Renaissance Textiles (2018) for the exhibition at the Sam Fogg Gallery, Mayfair. In November 2018, Dr Garrett moved to Memphis, where she has worked on exhibitions including Bouguereau & America,  Power & Absence: Women in Europe, 1500 – 1680, and L’Affichomania: The Passion for French Posters among others
